Karen D.'s Story
Life
Professional Artist for over 25 years, with works in public and private collections worldwide. Also a published illustrator and award winning poet. Working on book of poems using some of my paintings for illustration. Divide my time between producing artworks for shows and galleries and working for Gwinnett County Public Schools, Area Superintendents Office. Married since 1974 to Larry Garner (Norcross HS, 1969). Two grown children, a son and a daughter: both are married and out on their own. Two granddaughters, Hannah Rose and Elizabeth Grace - who I adore. on) and have yearly solo shows,as well as showing art with them all the time. If you are ever in the area, look up the Treasure Nest Art Gallery -- great folks. I love to travel to New England, particularly Rockport, Massachusetts, just northeast of Boston. Always been "called" to the north, and found what I was looking for there. Great painting material to inspire, and a very active art scene. Looking forward to retiring one of these days and spending more time by the shore (north or south). Maybe open up that gallery I've been dreaming about -- who knows?
